Hairstyles are inferior to none when it comes to accentuating your fashion look. So what are the hairstyles trends 2013 for women does matter a lot. Now let’s check it out.
Long hairstyles 2013
Either sleek straight hair down to shoulders or soft curly locks scattered on the chest can easily reveal your exclusive feminine charm. No wonder most women are conquered as die-hand fans by long hairstyles. While straightened look of long hair prevails this year. Simple yet stylish, long straight hairstyle nearly stole the show of all fashion weeks.
Medium hairstyles 2013
Being easy to maintain and versatile to flatter any attire, medium hairstyles have their loyal supporters: confident and independent daily office-going ladies. Conforming to the long hairstyles 2013, the sleek bob hairstyle is a notch above the medium hairstyles with curves.
Short hairstyles 2013
Simply and cool, short hairstyles are never shy to demonstrate your personality and fashion taste. And the easily styled short length is welcomed by your busy schedules. Compared to above two different length hairstyles, short hairstyle itself is more popular in 2013, especially with a pair of glasses. And the boyish and stylish crop hairstyle is the champion among various short hairstyles in 2013.
Straight hair looks absolutelyamazing on long hair. I didn't think long hair was that big of a deal until I found the second picture and it made me super jealous! With long hair, it often appears really thick yet healthy.
Imagine walking down the street with your long straight hair blowing in the wind, how sexy would that look?! You may also have "bad hair days" where your hair is a little messy but that's fine because looking at the pictures below, it gives you an effortless type of look yet it still looks absolutely amazing!
Wavy/Curly Hair
Tell me how long curly hair does not look absolutely amazing? I absolutely love the fact that with longer hair, curls would look more voluminous and drop dead gorgeous.
Unless you have naturally wavy/curly hair long hair (lucky ducks!), it would look perfect for any formal occasions. The looser the curls, the wavier it looks which gives you the "girl next door" impression.
Fishtail Braid
Fishtail braids are so easy to learn yet they would make an absolutely perfect hairstyle for both casual and formal occasions.
I recommend this hairstyle for those who have a side swept fringe because it enhances and compliments the hairstyle so well. The best thing about this braid is that either if it's messy or neat, it looks good both ways!
Half-Braided Updo's
I thought I'd include this hairstyle for those who have absolutely no idea how to style their hair when they want to go to a wedding or any other formal occasions.
Personally for me, I dislike having hair fly in my face so by braiding your fringe or the sides of your hair, it makes you look sophisticated, classy and you don't need to constantly worry about how your hair would look in photos! I also included a picture of Delta's headband braid again because I think it looks absolutely lovely and would make you look/feel like a goddess!
Intricate Braids
These hairstyles are what I was talking about for the "intricate braids". Unfortunately it cannot be done on short/medium hair but for you lucky kittens with long hair, just look how amazing they look.
I bet you're also thinking about how complicated they seem but after watching a few videos I found on YouTube, it has motivated me to keep on growing out my hair for the sole purpose of being able to braid my hair like this. It may be a little bit of a struggle at first but practice makes perfect!
Ombre Hair/Dip dye
Although my dip-dye hair didn't go as well as I wanted to, it still doesn't mean that ombre hair doesn't look amazing because guess what, it is! The best part is the fact that it looks so angelic on long hair. If you have naturally dark hair, I would personally recommend getting the ombre hair in the first picture instead of wanting it to go light straight away but if you have naturally light blonde hair.
I super duper recommend you to go pastel because it looks so so so amazing and so beautiful on long hair. If you feel as though dying half your hair is too much, dip dying looks just as good. Lucky for you guys with longer hair, you can dye it two colors yet it still looks absolutely fabulous!
Half Bow Updo
Who needs to buy a bow when you can make your own out of your own hair! This hairstyle is a super cute half updo bow which is really easy to try yourself at home.
"Bebexo" is one of my most favorite YouTube hair gurus and I absolutely adore this hairstyle because it looks as though you just came out from an anime or you're part of the sailor moon gang!
Braided Hairstyles
Yay it's "bebexo" again! This hairstyle is perfect for any formal occasions. Not only does it look boho, it would make a perfect prom kind of hairstyle that looks like you spent hours and hours on it but when in truth, you spend a little over 10 or so minutes. The video is super easy to follow and you should all go and subscribe to her on YouTube because she's absolutely amazing!
Intricate Side Braid
Remember "Lilith Moon"? How could you forget such a lovely YouTube guru who has such lovely hair tutorial videos?!
I was searching up some videos on YouTube when I stumbled across this video and it astonished me to see how such a hard looking braid would be so easy! This hairstyle is perfect for spring/summer or even as a formal hairdo!
Intricate Waterfall Braid
I'm sure many of you have already stumbled across the picture on the right from Tumblr or whatnot and thought to yourself "wow!" I finally found the video tutorial on YouTube by "Lilith Moon". Although it may be a bit harder to learn at first, after time you will be able to perfect this hairstyle to be able to wear it out everyday!
There are Short hairstyles that look gorgeous and elegant, in addition to low servicing. Although short hairstyles for thin fine hair will definitely not fit anyone, the key aspect is to select the right hairstyle for your experience form.
Make certain you select smartly, for it will take a while to develop your locks returning. So before you go forward and cut all your locks down, take some factors into account. How short are you willing to go?
Do you want levels or one-length? Should you display your hearing or nape or your jaw line? You can try some computer-imaging system to see what design you prefer best or you could look up on to different style book for referrals.
If you want a more expert, company like design you can go for a short hairstyles for thin fine hair. This hairstyle goes for an tilted finishes that supports your experience completely. The locks at the returning is blade cut to demonstrate your nape and make a more elegant contact.
If you haven't try short hairstyles for thin fine hair before and you're having questions doing so, you can try these two hair-styles which are not that short.
First is the brief design with hits, this one is cut just mid-length with levels that you can for an edgier and more personal look. This also comes with asymmetric hits to ease great temple. Another one is the unpleasant hairstyle that goes for a uneven cut with smooth hits and usually ungroomed.
Medium length hair naturally suits different face shapes since there isn't too much hair to overwhelm one's features but just enough to lend them definition. For instance, if you have a long and thin face, then you should probably give the long straight hair look a miss.
You can understand this by taking a look at some of Gwyneth Paltrow's latest pictures where she simply looks stunning in her medium length hairstyle with hair feathered lightly over her cheek bones and forehead.
There are also other different kinds of face shapes, these include round, oblong, oval, square, and heart shaped. Here is a brief look at the various styles that suit the above mentioned face shapes:
If you have an oval face, then you have the prospect of wearing just about any hairstyle, be it medium, short or long and if your face shape is oblong or rectangular it would be wise to choose a medium or short cut such as a 'bang' hairstyle.
This would lend a gentler and softer look to your face. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Mariah Carey have oval shaped faces whereas the faces of Stephanie Seymour and Janet Jackson are oblong in shape.
A medium hairstyle that best suits a round face would be one that is swept back away from the face while creating more fullness and height at the crown. Perfect role models for this type of style are Christina Ricci and Kate Winslet.
For a heart shaped face, a chin length cut can do wonders while long hair should be avoided altogether. A similar style is also recommended for those with square faces. The names of some famous heart-shaped faces include Claudia Schiffer and Michelle Pfeiffer and those of some square-faced stars include Demi Moore and Sandra Bullock.
Whichever medium hairstyle you choose for your face type, it is important to keep in mind that your personality is just as important as your face when it comes to making this decision.
There are many different types of scene hairstyles out there. Some of the most common scene hairstyles will be those that are longer. I have noticed that girls tend to get their hair longer then guys do. Guys will usually leave it longer in the front but cut it short in the back. Usually gel or serum is used to make it look really messy as well.
If you are going to take the route of having longer hair, you are going to have to take a little but more care of it. This is one of the biggest problems of having longer hair. It takes more work to take care of and do it up every day but it will usually result in a better looking cut as a result.
You are more than likely going to want to trim your ends on a weekly basis. Remember, with this hairstyle you want to make it looks choppy and razor cut it. In order to do this you need to trim your ends often. Try to get it layered and dye it many different colors.
Another thing you are going to have to do is wash your hair every day. It is very important that you keep your hair as clean as possible. Getting that left over junk out of your hair can be tough so make sure you scrub your hair hard!
The last thing that you need to do is keep your color in strong. This is probably the most important step of this little mini guide. The thing that makes this hair so cool is the color that you can get from it. Dye your hair as soon as it fads so that it stay in well and looks the best that it really can.
Hopefully this article has given you so ideas on how to style your hair. If you are still interested, you can visit my blog which will show you a few more long scene hairstyles.
If you are tired of that long hair and you believe short layered hair is going to be simpler to take care of, then you'll be able to be proper. There area variety of types of short hairstyles and haircuts available. One variety that's a variation on the standard short haircut is short layered hairstyle. Numerous men and women wish to have layers, your hair wants to be long but this isn't the case, even short haired individuals can have short layered hair.
One well-known short layered hairstyle is the bob. The bob could be cut at an even length or layers might be put into supply a variation on the style. This style possibly enables the most variation in the entire layers. The deciding factor for the length of the layers is how short you'd like your hair overall. Ensure that to ask your stylist for opinions on the different varieties if you are uncertain which layered bob would look great on you.
Another variation of short layered hair consists of lengthy layers and medium layers. The varying lengths of layers might be found in short hairstyles, meaning anyone can have overall short hair but it look longer as a result of graduated layers which have much more length in them.
You might have to be positive you pick the one that suits your face. You might not want layers which make hair too thin or too thick but may perhaps want layers that provide a flexible middle ground. Bear in mind, ask your stylist if the haircut is suitable for your facial features and your particular hair kind.
Another one of the well-liked short styles which has layers is the EMO style. We truly love the EMO styles. Maybe that is for the reason that we have the long EMO style?
The razor cut is yet an additional short layered hairstyle. The razor cut gives a choppy look which can have layers added for variable lengths. Layers add a a lot more textured, voluminous look to the style. Within the razor cut, a razor is utilized to cut the hair too as shape it at the ends.
Occasionally scissors are utilized along with a razor is utilized to shape the ends. The style may well not be for everybody - specifically in case you have fine hair. This style does tend to thin out the look of your hair. Make sure to ask your stylist if this is an suitable cut for you.
Nowadays, those short styles have gained a lot of popularity and the layers add a complete new twist to them. Women that have straight hair can now look stunning with those short layers. Even those ladies who have wavy or curly hair can look stunning. All textures look good in these styles.
Like the ponytail, the half up half down hairstyle has been around for what seems like forever but is always evolving. This is one of the many popular styles out there that will update your half up half down for 2013.
It works with all hair types as long as the hair is medium to long as creating the braids may be a stretch for those with short hair and you can either use it on freshly washed and blow-dried hair or unwashed hair.
Best of all, despite its new look, it is still almost as easy to create this hairstyle as it is to do a classic half up half down look. Start by parting your hair wherever you normally do then take a section on either side of the part, making sure that the sections are about the same width as two of your fingers.
Create a loose braid in each of the sections you just grabbed, working them towards a meeting point. To make sure the braids don’t unravel too easily, put a small dab of pomade or texturizing cream at the ends. Now you can use a clear hair tie to connect the braids at the back of your head.
Finally, carefully take four small bobby pins (two on each side) and slide them along your scalp underneath the braid in order to make sure no pieces of the braids fall out despite their looseness. You are now done creating your modern take on the half up half down classic look.
If you’re interested in getting the latest, hottest hairstyle, then you might consider checking out some of the latest celebrity hair fashions for 2013 season. Medium length haircuts are among the most popular cuts for women in 2013.
This is because medium length hairstyles are relatively easy to maintain while still exuding a great deal of femininity. Rumer Willis is one of the most popular up-and-coming celebrities today, and she shows us just how hot shoulder-length hair can really be. All you need as a good cut, a bold color, a little fashion sense, and your medium-length locks will take you far.
If you have followed Rumer’s career, you might have noticed that this girl can rock any hairstyle. From short curly locks, to medium length waves, to glamorous up-dos, Rumer Willis knows just how to wear her hair for maximum style.
Rumer’s bold, auburn color allows her naturally wavy locks to pop with magnificence. The secret to getting hair like Rumer is to have your stylist create a freshly swooping side bang to complement the shape of your face. We all remember when bangs were out in the early 2000s, but they have begun to make a comeback, and they are hotter than ever!
However, if you do decide to edge up your style with some funky bangs, you may want to learn how to maintain them on your own. Bangs can quickly get out of control, and they usually need a bit more maintenance then the rest of your hair.
Making your own hair accessories is both an enjoyable experience in itself, and the only way there is to ensure that your own accessories are truly unique.
The more unusual the materials, the more likely you are to create a standout piece that your girlfriends will covet (and possibly steal - so watch out!).
Feathers, buttons, lace, brass coins, stockings, silk flowers, beads, strips of leather and suede - each of these materials and many more have been used to great effect.
I've even seen a girl with teabags in her hair... not exactly a style I'd choose for myself, but you have to give her points for originality! Do-it-yourself hair accessories allow you to create a style that is uniquely yours.
The materials you decide to use really depend on the overall look that you're after and how crafty you are. Feathers have become big news of late, with several international fashion houses (including Chanel and Nina Ricci) using feathery embellishments in their recent collections.
Feathers are also moving up the trend ladder in a major way when it comes to hairstyles as well - you can now get bohemian-style feathered hair extensions that can be left in for weeks at a time.
Alternatively, you can make a gorgeous DIY feathered headband like this one from top accessories designer Jennifer Behr (unfortunately there's no 'final product' photo available, so you'll have to use your imagination there).
Making a unique headband out of gold wire and feathers
Leather is another natural material that is ideal for making hair accessories, as it is easy to work with and can be bought at your local craft store.
You can make superb Native American-inspired accessories with strips of leather and beads; plait three large strips of it together to create a braided headband; or wrap your hair Viking-style with one long strip of leather like singer Ke$ha has in the photograph below.
Faux leather (vinyl) also makes for some lovely hair adornments and is usually much sturdier and cheaper than real leather - check out these handmade barrettes, ponytail holders and vinyl headbands, complete with simple do-it-yourself instructions.
Kesha's unique leather-embellished hairstyle
Have some old stockings lying around? If you don't it doesn't matter, as they're available at the supermarket and can be cut to make ponytail holders and headbands.
Use the legs of the stockings to make ultra soft, no-snag hair elastics - the width is up to you - and cut out the top of the stockings to make a stretchy, flat headband (bonus points if the stockings happen to be fishnets).
Alternatively you can cut the legs of the stockings down the length in three parts and braid them together, creating a thicker headband that can be worn both classically or hippie-style (check out this great how-to video here).
And for those of us who possess decent sewing skills (or have a close friend or relative who does), it's worth taking a look at these fabulous tutorials for making DIY head scarves and headbands.
The finished products are nothing short of beautiful and best of all, you get to choose the fabrics and patterns yourself. It certainly beats spending your cash on the generic, store-bought versions, and gives you the added thrill of knowing that your creation is truly one of a kind.
With the filming of the last Harry Potter instalment well and truly behind her, it looks as though Emma Watson has marked the beginning of the next chapter in her life with a very short (and very chic) new haircut!
She confirmed her new look on her Facebook and Twitter accounts, telling fans that her hair "Feels incredible. I love it," and posting this beautiful portrait.
Emma Watson's head-turning new look
She's not the first Hollywood star to have gone short this year: Hayden Panettiere, Cate Blanchett, and Renee Zellweger have all opted for boy-short locks.
With Emma's reputation as a fashion icon - and her legion of fans from her ten-year spell as Hermione Granger - there's no doubt that there will be plenty of women around the world who adopt this hairstyle in the weeks to come.
Emma shopping in New York
Before making any major changes like Emma has, it's always worth considering very carefully why you want to go short, and whether or not it will suit your face and your current lifestyle.
Emma certainly did: she wrote on her Facebook wall that she'd wanted to make this change for a long time, and finally got the chance to at the end of her Harry Potter journey.
"Ive wanted to do this for years and years," Watson told fans earlier this week. "Its the most liberating thing ever."
So what do you think of Emma's hair? Whether you love it, hate it or just think it could do with some minor adjustments, let me know in the comments section below.
For someone who grew up listening to nothing but gospel music, Katy Perry certainly knew how make her move in the world of pop!
Known for her saucy lyrics, unique fashion choices and for being the girl who brought comedian Russell Brand's less-than-monogamous lifestyle to a screeching halt (the two are engaged to be married), Katy Perry's hair has also become something of a talking point - it's been long, short, blonde and... blue?
Short hair is great for every day looks. It is easy to take care of and stays out of the way of your active lifestyle.
But when that special night rolls around, you want to create an elegant prom hairstyle for short hair. Though you may need to experiment to find the right look for you, it is possible to find the perfect look for prom.
Most prom hairstyles for short hair should focus on taking attention away from your hair and putting it on your dress. Experiment with a sleek look. Take some gel or pomade and create a definite part in your hair.
Then slick the hair away from either side of the part as well as away from your face. You can even use the pomade to create a slightly sculpted look around your face. Think of Lisa Minnelli in Cabaret, but less androgynous.
Your prom hairstyle for short hair can also combine some sleekness and some textures. Brush the front half of your hair into a smooth part that frames either side of your face. If you want, you can clip it out of your eyes with a small jeweled barrette.
Then, in the back, add sculpting wax and back brush your hair to give it spiky body. If you’re feeling really adventurous, pull your crimping iron out of the closet and create a prom hairstyle for short hair with a pattern of textured and non-textured hair throughout your head.
For example, let the hair closest to your face be smooth and then crimp the next four or five inch chunk before crimping and back brushing the whole back of your head.
For a more whimsical prom hairstyle for short hair, go for sparkly butterfly clips. Take a small part of your hair, twist it, and tie it in a loose knot. Then you should soften the ends with a curling iron.
Use a butterfly clip to attach it to your head. Space the knots evenly or have smaller knots on top and thicker knots in the back. It creates a halo of soft hair punctuated by shining butterflies. You will look innocent and gorgeous all at the same time.
Do you want to be a blonde one day and a redhead the next? One way to do this is to dye your own hair and restyle it, but you can achieve the same effect with much less effort - just buy a wig.
To select a wig that would be indistinguishable from real human hair and become your favorite fashion accessory, though, you need to know a few insider tips.
First of all, if youre worried that a wig will not look natural on your head, never fear! A properly made wig - even the quality synthetic varieties - can look totally realistic.
Which is best - synthetic or human hair wigs?
Fashion wigs can be synthetic or made from real human hair. Synthetic wigs are cheaper, but the very cheap fashion wigs that you find online dont look real enough.
On the other hand, high quality synthetic wigs like Revlon, Raquel Welch or Paula Young wigs look very real. Also, synthetic wigs are easier to care for, as you dont need to restyle them every time you wash them.
Real human hair is in limited supply, so human hair wigs are much more expensive; typically they several hundred dollars. Human hair wigs look and feel very natural.
However, it is important to know that the quality of your wig depends on the origin of the hair used. The cheapest hair comes from Asian countries, but their texture is different from the hair of European women.
The best human hair wigs are made from European hair but, unfortunately, they cost a small fortune.
What wigs styles are available?
You can get ¾ wigs as well as full wigs. A full wig covers your entire head, so none of your own hair is visible. This type of wig is great when you want to try a color different from your own.
A ¾ wig is clipped to the top of your head. Because your original hairline is visible, the wig looks very natural. Also, your head doesnt get toasted under a wig cap.
On the downside, though, three quarter wigs have to match your hair color very closely, otherwise it wont look convincing. It is best not to buy this type of wig online because the colors on the color charts are usually not very accurate.
A very interesting style of wig is the headband wig. A headband wig is a full wig with a headband attached to its front. It is especially useful if you are always in a hurry, because the headband ensures that none of your own hair is visible. This style is recommended if your natural hair is a dramatically different color from the wig. Wigs come in all shapes and styles - from very short to 30 inches long, in straight, curly, wavy, braided, layered, spiky or the wet look. It is important that you look at many styles before you decide which one your heart desires.
It is a good idea to have your wigs customized, too. If you can find a hair salon that can trim your wig to make it fit your face shape, go for it. Customizing a wig isn't cheap, of course, but it will make your new wig look more realistic and suitable for your face.
If you feel like a change, get yourself a wig. It is amazing, how much having a different hairstyle can transform a person. And for a woman it is always important to vary her image and look fresh.
